Choosing the best educational environment for your child is one of the most meaningful decisions you’ll make as a parent. At Bishop Gorman, we proudly welcome qualified transfer applicants who:

Admission for transfer students depends on space availability and is guided by a prioritization process rooted in Bishop Gorman’s values and legacy.

Qualified applicants are considered based on the following priorities:
    1. Students transferring from a Catholic high school outside of Las Vegas.
    2. Students transferring from a non-Catholic high school outside of Las Vegas.
    3. Students transferring from a Las Vegas high school whose parents are alumni or have siblings currently attending Bishop Gorman.
    4. Students transferring from a Las Vegas high school who are Catholic and active in a local parish.
    5. Students transferring from a Las Vegas high school who are non-Catholic or non-active Catholics with no prior connection to Bishop Gorman.
We are no longer accepting transfer applications for rising sophomores and juniors for the 2025–2026 school year. However, if you are relocating from out of state and wish to be considered for a mid-semester transfer starting January 2026, please contact us at admissions@bishopgorman.org.

The application for rising sophomores and juniors for the 2026–2027 school year will be available on our website beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Transfer Students

  • Step 1: Admission Criteria

    Applicants who meet the following admission requirements will be prioritized for acceptance based on space availability: 

    Applicant Requirements (transfer freshman, sophomore, or junior applicants):
    1. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in core classes (English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, and {if coming from a Catholic school}, Theology) with a C or better in all classes.
    2. A positive disciplinary record and positive attendance record.
    3. May not have been expelled or are in the process of expulsion from their present school.
    4. Transfers from local high schools are not ordinarily admitted for the senior year. Students transferring from Catholic high schools outside of Las Vegas may be admitted as seniors.
    5. Students must have sufficient credits in place to meet Bishop Gorman’s graduation requirements upon entrance to the school. Applicants that are credit deficient will not be considered for admission.
    All applicants are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. They will be evaluated based on a review of the applicant's records and available space.  Any applicant admitted enters on a probationary basis. 
  • Step 2: Submit An Online Application

    • Complete the ONLINE TRANSFER APPLICATION  before paying the $100 application fee.
    • The entire process should take no longer than 20 minutes.
    • After the application has been submitted, allow 1-2 business days for it to be processed.
  • Step 3: Submit Required Documents

    Once your application has been processed (please allow 1-2 business days), you will receive an email letting you know an admissions checklist has been assigned to you within your BGHS account under the Admissions Progress tab and you are now able to begin uploading your student’s documents.

    Please complete your checklists in a timely manner.  A completed checklist is a completed admissions file.  As admissions files are completed, the Admissions Committee will meet regularly to consider applicants.  Acceptances are based on space availability.
    • BIRTH CERTIFICATE: As per our parent-student handbook: All students are required to submit a state issued birth certificate upon application and must be on track to graduate prior to their 20th birthday to qualify for admission. 
    • CATHOLIC SACRAMENTAL CERTIFICATES: If student is Catholic, copies of Baptismal, First Eucharist, and Confirmation certificates.  If uploading multiple documents, please scan and save them as one document, then upload 
    • GRADES
      • Copy of Past Two Years of Grades
        • If multiple documents please scan and save them as one document, then upload.
      • Copy of High School – In Progress Grades
        • If multiple documents please scan and save them as one document, then upload.
    • STUDENT ESSAY
      • Please upload a one-page student essay with the following points: 
        • 1. reasons for leaving current school
        • 2. accomplishments at your current school
        • 3. specific reasons for wanting to attend BGHS.
    RECOMMENDATION FORM
    Within the admissions checklist, there is a BGHS-provided recommendation email form. You will need to input the name and email address of the dean/counselor who needs to complete the form.  Once the confidential form is completed by the dean/counselor, it is automatically returned to the Admissions Office and you will receive a notification.  We require the completion of one BGHS-provided recommendation form: 
        1. Dean / Counselor Recommendation Form
    If applying to the Learning Center, an additional recommendation form will be required within the admissions checklist for completion.
  • Step 4: Visit BGHS

    CAMPUS TOURS
    We love welcoming prospective families.  Come visit…let us show you around!   In-person campus tours are a great way for families to learn more about Bishop Gorman High School and see our beautiful campus.  Our school’s environment and energy are best displayed during school hours where you can see our students focused and engaged learning in our classrooms.  Tours typically last 90 minutes.  To join us for a tour, complete an inquiry form and allow 1-2 business days to process your form.  After, you can log in to your BGHS online account and register for a future tour date.  Space is limited to allow a personal experience for our families.
  • Step 5: Submit Tuition Assistance Application

    We offer need-based tuition assistance. Tuition Assistance applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on November 1, 2025.  You must submit a transfer application before applying for tuition assistance. 
  • Step 6: Decision Notification

    All transfer student acceptance is based on space availability.  Should there be space, decision letters are sent to applicants who have completed admissions files that include all the required documents as indicated within the admissions checklist. 

The Learning Center

Bishop Gorman’s Learning Center is a service that is available to students formally diagnosed with a learning difference.
