Selecting the best educational environment for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make as a parent. We invite you to review the Admissions Process below for transfer students. 
 
Transfer applications for the 2023-2024 school year are no longer available as we have a significant amount of interest with limited space.
 
Transfer applicants with completed admissions files will continue to be reviewed up until August.t

Transfer students that meet the admission criteria will be accepted on a space availability basis and are prioritized by:
    1. Transferring from a Catholic high school outside of Las Vegas
    2. Transferring from a non-Catholic high school outside of Las Vegas
    3. Transferring from a high school in Las Vegas and either parents are alumni or siblings are currently in attendance at Bishop Gorman.
    4. Transferring from a high school within Las Vegas and a Catholic family who participate in a parish
    5. Transferring from high school within Las Vegas and are non-Catholic and non-active Catholic family with no previous connection to Bishop Gorman

  • Step 1: Admission Criteria

    Applicants who meet the following admission requirements will be prioritized for acceptance based on space availability: 

    Applicant Requirements (transfer freshman, sophomore, or junior applicants):
      1. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in core classes (English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, and {if coming from a Catholic school}, Theology) with a C or better in all classes.
      2. A positive disciplinary record and positive attendance record.
      3. May not have been expelled or are in the process of expulsion from their present school.
      4. Transfers from local high schools are not ordinarily admitted for the senior year. Students transferring from Catholic high schools outside of Las Vegas may be admitted as seniors.
      5. Students must have sufficient credits in place to meet Bishop Gorman’s graduation requirements upon entrance to the school. Applicants that are credit deficient will not be considered for admission.
    All applicants are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. They will be evaluated based on a review of the applicant's records and available space.  Any applicant admitted enters on a probationary basis. 
  • Step 2: Submit The Online Application

    1. Create a BGHS account (or log in to your current account)
    2. Complete the ONLINE TRANSFER APPLICATION before paying the $100 application fee.
    3. The entire process should take no longer than 20 minutes.
    4. After the application has been submitted, allow 1-2 business days for it to be processed. Once processed, you will be able to log in to your BGHS account and complete step E below.
    5. Upload any required documents.
  • Step 3: Submit Required Documents

    In your BGHS account, under the Admissions Progress tab, there is an admissions checklist. It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit the required materials to the admissions checklist.
     
    BIRTH CERTIFICATE
    After your application has been processed and an admissions checklist has been added to your account, you can upload this document.

    GRADES
    Copy of Past Two Years of Grades
    Upload the past two years of grades. If multiple documents please scan and save them as one document, then upload.
     
    Copy of High School – In Progress Grades
    Upload your high school in-progress grades. If multiple documents please scan and save them as one document, then upload.

    RECOMMENDATION FORM
    Within the admissions checklist, there is a BGHS-provided recommendation form. You will need to input the name and email address of the dean/counselor who needs to complete the form.  Once the confidential form is completed by the dean/counselor, it is automatically returned to the Admissions Office and you will receive a notification.  We require the completion of one BGHS-provided recommendation form: 
      1. Dean / Counselor Recommendation Form
    If applying to the Learning Center, an additional recommendation form will be required within the admissions checklist for completion.
  • Step 4: Visit BGHS

    CAMPUS TOURS
    We love welcoming prospective families.  Come visit…let us show you around!   In-person campus tours are a great way for families to learn more about Bishop Gorman High School and see our beautiful campus.  Our school’s environment and energy are best displayed during school hours where you can see our students focused and engaged learning in our classrooms.  Tours typically last 90 minutes.  To join us for a tour, complete an inquiry form and allow 1-2 business days to process your form.  After, you can log in to your BGHS online account and register for a future tour date.  Space is limited to allow a personal experience for our families.

    PREVIEW DAY
    Preview Day will provide prospective students with the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, current students, as well as learn about the academic and extracurricular offerings at Bishop Gorman High School. 

    After an application has been submitted, you will be able to register for a Preview Day in your admissions checklist.

    During your student's Preview Day a campus tour for parents/guardians will be offered from 8:45-10:15 a.m.  It is not necessary to sign up. 

  • Step 5: Submit Tuition Assistance Application

    We offer need-based tuition assistance. The Tuition Assistance application for the 2023-2024 school year is available now.  Applications received by February 10, 2023, will receive award notification before registration week in March.  Families can apply for Tuition Assistance at any point during the year, but only those who complete their applications by February will be notified of their award before registration week.
  • Step 6: Decision Notification

    All transfer student acceptance is based on space availability.  Should there be space, decision letters are sent to applicants who have completed admissions files that include all the required documents as indicated within the admissions checklist. 

The Learning Center

Bishop Gorman’s Learning Center is a service that is available to students formally diagnosed with a learning difference.
