What does Campus Ministry do? And how can I get involved?

Campus Ministry sponsors retreats and service activities, and plans worship events. You can get involved by stopping in the Campus Ministry Office to sign up for a retreat, or volunteering to help out at one of the Masses or other worship activities, or to help out in service to children and families in need.

RETREATS

Freshmen and Sophomores can take part in QUEST.

Juniors and seniors can take part in KAIROS.

Worship

Campus Ministry is responsible for all Masses and other liturgical services. Students participate in all aspects of these services--as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, dramatists, musicians, and singers. A committee made up of students and adults also plan each liturgy.

Members of the liturgy choir sing at a BGHS Mass

Students are invited to become part of the BGHS Worship Choir, which is responsible for the music at all liturgical services. The choir is open to all--and students can get academic credit for participating. Students who like to sing or play an instrument are invited to participate. Details are available through Campus Ministry.

SERVICE

Campus Ministry offers many different types of service activities. Currently they include (but aren't limited to):

MATTHEW'S CLOSET - a clothing outreach to street people. BGHS student started this.

MATTHEW 25 BOARD - a board made up of students who help families seeking financial aid to move out of homelessness and help keep other families from becoming homeless. The money for these efforts comes from weekly "Mite Box" donations collected during the first period classes once a week at BGHS.
