Admission Requirements For International Students
____________________________________________________________________________A high school student coming from another country who wants to be accepted at Bishop Gorman High School, must provide the following information to Mr. Tracy Goode, Director of Admissions: 1. A student must have a good understanding of English and the ability to speak the language. 2. A notarized copy of the student's current high school transcript. If the transcript is in French or Spanish our school has someone on our campus who can translate the transcript into our curriculum. If the transcript is in any another language, it needs to be translated into the English language and notarized.
3. A telephone number for the high school in their country.
4. Information on the length of the classes (how many minutes in duration).
5. Information on how many times a week each class met.
6. The length of the school day, including the start time and the finish time.
7. The length of the school year.
8. A copy of the student’s immunization or health records.
Once all information is received (the above information, application form and a $200.00 application fee), notification of application status will be given to the family. After the student is accepted, an I-20 form will be issued to the student by our school for the student to obtain a student visa. The Sevis I-901 fee of $100.00 will need to be paid at the time the I-20 form is issued. Parents should contact the local Immigration Service in Las Vegas at 1-702-388-6649, and speak to a Student Coordinator or Mr. Stephen Green regarding the proper immigration procedure. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Goode or Mrs. Bernhardy at 732-1945, extension 4011.
