Freshman Year Requirements
___________________________________________________________________

Entrance requirements for Bishop Gorman High School are the following:

1.  Completed application with non-refundable application fee.
2.  A minimum 2.0 grade point average or better in the previous school year.
3.  A Stanine level of 4 or above on the Placement Exam or any national exam.
4.  A good disciplinary record.
5.  A good attendance record.

All students who meet the admission requirements are prioritized according to the following criteria:

  • Catholic grade school and feeder school graduates.

  • Catholic families who participate in a Las Vegas area parish and who have children in public school.

  • Families in which either the parents or siblings of the prospective student have been, or are, in attendance at Bishop Gorman.

  • Non-Catholic and non-active Catholic families with no previous connection to Gorman.

Students who do not meet the admissions requirements are referred to the Admissions Committee.  They will be evaluated based on a review of the student’s records and available space.

Bishop Gorman High School is funded primarily by tuition and an annual assessment contributed by the Roman Catholic parishes of the Las Vegas area.  While preference is given to Catholic families, no one is refused admission because of race, creed, or color.
